DESIGNERSBLOCK COVENT GARDEN SEPTEMBER 2008

Just back from Covent Garden in London after showing with Designersblock once again. We had an amazing space for the week overlooking the piazza watching life go by........not that there was much time for that! We had an amazing week - incredibly busy with lots and lots and lots of visitors and some amazing feedback.

GREEK SHARK ATTACK.....

Just back from a fantastic holiday on the beautiful Greek island of Kefallonia.  Much relaxation and fun had all week.  Had a bit of a surprise on our last day when we spotted something suspicious floating in the water.  On closer inspection it turned out to be a dead shark.....yes a dead SHARK!!!!!!!!! After our brave friend landed it on the beach, we (and most of the locals) had a good look and prod - turned out to be around 6ft long.  The most exciting day........

And on closer inspection we realised that it had been shot.  There were a couple of guys 'taking care' of the situation - one was the coastguard and the other was a guy who could have been Tele Savalas' double.  He told us that he was going to put it in a plastic bag and bury it in the ground....Ok whatever you say mate.....odd.....

NORTHERN ODYSSEY

Our northern adventure took place in a tiny little place called Achmelvich in the north of Scotland.  We arrived in the most amazing weather - it was hot hot hot.... 

If it weren't for the water feeling like ice, you could be in the mediterranean!  Never the less, Lachlan took the plunge and was waterskiing at 10:30 in the evening....

DUBAI

We were in Dubai for some chill out time visiting and staying with family.  

Visited some interesting places - not a lot of history to see but plenty of shopping.....I mean lots and lots and lots of shopping.....

The gold souk was interesting - check out these lovelies!

Saw some amazing textiles and old architecture (yes there is some!) and visited the 'Blue Souk' in Sharzah....Did some haggling (rubbish at that) and think we got some bargains..

DESIGNERS BLOCK MILAN 2008

INVITE for Designers Block in Milan 2008.  It takes place in a lido this year and we will be suitably 'pool' inspired!.  

It will be the first outing for ROAM.  Hoping that all good things come from it and look forward to meeting and greeting...

DESIGNERS BLOCK SHOW 16-22 April 2008

Our blankets' home for the week at Designers Block Milan....A geodesic dome full of sun umbrellas!  No they are not lamps....no they are not umbrella covers...they are indeed BLANKETS!!!!

Much confusion with some people, but most understood what it was all about!

The best time was had by the (very small!) team at ROAM.  Had fab neighbours (Kith-Kin.....funny funny very funny) and the Designers Block team were most genial!

Met loads of great and very cool people and hope to do some collaboration work as a result - fingers crossed...........
